First of the Lamborn Family Vineyard wines at the Great Falls Wine Outlet this Friday. Medium to deep ruby red. Soft nose with tons of dark cocoa, blueberries, sweet spices, herbal and some pepper. Heavy tannins (7/10) and medium plus bodied. Needs a solid decant, an hour or two, to show off a bit more of its stuffing. A bit herbal on the palate with spices and lots of cherries. Quite a bit of acidity with a long finish. Drink till 2026.

This is a wine you can expect to get so much better than it already is. It has the same exact consistency as its predecessors. 2011 HM is just perfect for them and the black and red fruit commingling with the oak flavors makes this one for the cellar. Everyone should be buying the next "sleeper vintage." #pnv15 #heidibarrett @Brian Lamborn

Lamborn always gives that wonderful Howell Mountain fruit. This presents with dark fruit, anise, spices, and chocolate. After some time in the glass, this one really shined. Silky smooth mouthfeel that precedes a superb finish. A 2011 that gives all the good stuff.

Brought back a great memory of tasting this vintage with Mike Lamborn on the porch at his house. A terrific fellow, and an excellent wine. Give it 2+ hrs of air to let it open up fully, or continue to hold.

Good. But not the best vintage. 2010 or 2012 would be preferred.
