Lamborn Family Vineyards
Proprietor Grown Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

Double magnum celebrating my daughter’s marriage.
Excellent wine. Beautiful nose of cassis and blueberries. Coffee notes on the mid palate, with very little oak to talk about. Nice texture supported by muscular tannins. Finishes moderately sweet. Nice acidity suggests that there’s no rush to consume this.

Further improved on day 2.
Lots of oak treatment on the nose and palate. Tannins are still quite robust, along with the acidity. Best Lamborn in a while. Drink or hold this vintage.

Best Lamborn we’ve had in a while.
Crunchy black fruits, bold texture, and just the right amount of sweetness. Excellent from the first sip to the last. This will cellar for another 15 years, easily.

Mother nature dealt our friends at Lamborn a difficult hand recently. Due to the ongoing fires in California, they have lost their 2020 crop of cabernet to smoke taint. Our hearts go out to our family at Lamborn. Please keep our good friends in your thoughts, and in your glass. If you’ve never tasted a Lamborn wine, there has never been a better, or more urgent time to do so. We are stocking up on their premium Howell Mtn cab, and their rosé. Tell em that Ronnie and Anne-Marie sent you 🥰

Best Lamborn we’ve had in a while. Plush and rich. Really fruit-forward, with good weight on the mid palate. Lots of runway ahead of this.
Sag Harbor.

Very surprising, but this is on the downswing. Lacking fruit, sweetness and texture. I’m gutted with this...

Very pleased with this showing. Displayed a nice bouquet on Sunday evening. Notes of sandalwood and coffee and tobacco on the palate. Tannins are still prominent, which is a good sign for cellaring. Nice maple-like notes with dark berries on the finish.

This showed very well last night. Bright nose, linear and focused presentation on the palate. Pure acid balance complimented the tannins very well. Within its consumption window now, and will cellar for many years to come.

Lovely nose of cassis and minerals. Palate displays iron, smoke and black fruits. Not as silky as we have come to expect from Napa cabs. Does Lamborn need a different winemaker? Just a thought...

Big surprise for us. Had lots of this wine/vintage in the past, but this is on the decline, and past it’s prime. Herbs and medicinal notes on the nose and palate. Disappointing. Outlier?
