this was a tasty quaff: juicy, bright, brambly, and spicy. Magliocco and Guernaccia Nera are grapes with which I wasn't familiar.

This might be THE most refreshing red I've ever had not only from southern Italy, but perhaps all of Italy. Like Beaujolais in Calabria-- but with a more intense shimmering berry character, and a chiseled mineral driven tannic structure that feels like chalk on the palate. Incredibly interesting and delicious for the price.

Perfect summer red. Brilliantly quaffable when lightly chilled and given some time with air. Minerals and tart blackberries.
