In my opinion, there’s much “churn” in the Napa cab market right now, but La Pelle better understand how the high-end side of the market operates. It starts with a well-appointed winemaker - which is never outdated. This wine is stacked and jacked. Texture, and tension form the primary descriptors. Sandalwood is evident on the nose and palate. Mature cherries, oranges and bright acidity bring home what is an outstanding presentation.

Silky smooth on the palate.
Serious gymnastics performed by the winemaker in a lackluster vintage.

Getting better, its been a few months since the first one. Curious how it will do with the Shafer 4 hour decant, we’ll see on the next bottle, for now it’s drinking time

This probably wasn’t crafted for near-term consumption, as it’s drum-tight, and the tannins, while pristine, pack a punch. Excellent, but leave this for a few years. Your patience will be rewarded.
Went and completed a stairs workout with Anne-Marie. This is our view at the top - the dirty rotten big apple 🍎

Excellent juice from La Pelle as always. We popped and poured this, but it needs cellaring. Brimming with overripe cherries, balsamic reduction and tobacco. On the palate, the tannins reign supreme. Superb density, complimented with a velvety structure. Bright acids and excellent minerality combine with coffee notes on the finish - pure decadence!
