This feels big and international for Rioja. Purple plums, black cherries, a hint of plum/apricot kernel and some sweet cocoa. None of the transparency of the more traditional producers like LdH or La Rioja Alta. Dense, tannins a bit chalky. Time won’t hurt.

Very expressive nose displaying complex aromas of walnut, vanilla, cedar, sweet ripe plums, dark cherries and hints of liquorice. It is dry and intense in the palate, with a tasty concentration and fine-grained firm tannic structure. The alcohol is well-integrated and balanced by a medium+ lively acidity. It is full-bodied and ends with a persistent and pleasant aftertaste. It is an outstanding example of non-traditional but not too modern Rioja either. Very balanced and with elegant and well-integrated oak notes.
