Looks like this may be higher end Carmènére. Lovely rosy red color. Aroma is violets, roses and plums with a hint of porcini mushroom, used coffee grounds or tobacco leaves. Pretty Boudreaux like flavors. Clean with some pencil shavings and very berry. After it airs out, the classic cigar and unsweetened licorice stuff of Carménère is present. This is an interesting wine that evolved from a tight and underripe berry driven flavor profile to a chewy, earthy fairly funky red. Shows how taste isn’t static and oxygen interacting can change a wine.
