This 5 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder is delicious right now, although still young.

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Strong fruity nose of cedar, black fruits and chocolate notes.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice complexity.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, peppercorn and light cola.

Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

Tangy and rich, yet elegant. Needs a few hours to open up properly, so be patient.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years, and has good potential to become a 94+ point wine.

A great sipping wine that will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot. Aged in (50% new) French oak barrels for 30 months. Only 1,200 bottles produced.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder in Napa Valley.

Elegant, soft and smooth. Not 'in your face' kind of wine, which is nice to see out of Napa.

Good right out of the bottle, and much better after 3 hours of airtime.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Will be nice to revisit it in 5 years and see how it evolved.

Good by itself as a sipping wine and good with food. I paired it with a Ribeye steak.

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Strong nose of black currants, plums, cooked cherries, violets, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco and herbs.

Full bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberry pie, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, herbs, vanilla, spices, chocolates and black pepper.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This 6 year old Napa Cabernet is still young, but already very enjoyable, even by itself. Rich and extracted. Fruit forward, but calm.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.

Very flowery once it opens up. I liked the nose better than the palate. A very enjoyable wine.

This Single Vineyard will continue to age nicely in the next 7 to 10 years.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins, cranberries and peppercorn.

This young Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is starting to drink nicely now, although it needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.

Showing nice complexity, elegant and spicy, with lots of earth notes.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.

Smooth, elegant and tangy. Feels like a young Bordeaux, and will age nicely in the next 10 years.

Good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with BBQ Meats. I paired it with a Brie cheese and crackers.

Here is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.

Inky in color with a short reddish rim.

On the nose blackberries, blueberries, cooked cherries, licorice, cedar, light vanilla, earth, light bell pepper, spices, celery, tobacco, dark chocolates, coffee, vegetables, light alcohol, peppercorn and pencil lead.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, leather, chocolates, tobacco leaf, licorice, graphite, peppercorn, vanilla, cola and light vegetables.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a wonderful Cabernet Sauvignon from Mount Veeder in Napa Valley. Nicely balanced with a great mouthfeel. Showing nice complexity on the nose and palate.

Still very young, but already enjoyable even by itself. Showing a little bit of alcohol, which would phase out with bottle time.

Good by itself or with food. Rich, opulent, fruit forward and ripe.

Needs time to open up, it took 2 hours to bring out the tannins and the complexity. As it opens up earth and vegetable notes show up and make it more interesting. Delicious once it opens up.

A good quality wine with good potential to become 95+ point wine. Will age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.

I paired it with cheeses, but will pair very nicely with a big piece of steak.

This is the autumn breeze of cabs. Call for this cab when you need a smooth ride down soft oak berry lane. Crunchy fat maple leaves, peppered cherries, spiced plums, on a cool crisp all morning. Breakfast maple sausage? This is breakfast cab!

Deep mix of garnet and ruby red. Soft on the nose with some solid layers of spices, bell peppers, forest floor, truffles, dark plums, black and red cherries. A little candied with some air. Moderate tannins (7/10) and medium plus body. Palate has layers of dark cocoa, and red cherries. But the fruit is definitely fading. Drink till 2024.

Opening my first bottle from another swap with @Greg Ballington ! I've heard a few things about Kukeri and have been curious to get their Mount Veeder cab. Greg was kind enough to send an older bottle, which I believe was their inaugural vintage for this wine? Poured Ruby in the glass with slight red brick color for the edge. Could tell it was slightly aged. On the nose, at pop and pour, it was not close to ready. Everything was shut down. After about 45mins, it opened with green pepper on the nose, lots of plums, and mushroom. Tannins are still strong on the palate which alludes to a few more years, but this feels like it's got a max of 5 or so left that contain fruit as the dominant note. Finished with a vegetal note, additional plums, tart raspberries.

Medium ruby with garnet edges. Layered nose that shows characteristics of a wet and cool vintage. Damp forest floor, a little dirty, light bell peppers, truffles, mushrooms and when it finally opened up an hour or so later there were some tight red berries. Moderate tannins (6/10) with a rounded medium plus body. Pureed dark berries with some light vegetal notes on the palate. Moderate plus finish. Glad we grabbed a few of these to see how they develop. At the moment if this does not change, drink till 2024.
