Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Howell Mountain, Napa Valley, California, USA

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blueberries, black plums, currants, light wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf, herbs and black pepper.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, peppercorn and tobacco leaf.
Long finish with fine grained tannins, tangy cherries and red chili pepper.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain. Rich, but not extracted.
Fruit forward with lots of earth and chocolate notes. Feels like a New World Cabernet, with a touch of Bordeaux.
This 5 year old Cabernet is drinking beautifully now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.
Nicely balanced and elegant, with a nice mouthfeel. Spicy and entertaining. Complex and interesting.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.
I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is very consistent.
Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.
A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc. Aged in (40% new) French Oak barrels for 26 months. A tiny production of only 1,200 bottles.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$95.
