Such an expressive nose. Superbly mineral and confectionary. Almost a vanilla nougat element that is so clean. Awesome. So floral as well. Pretty as pretty can be. Huge minerals. Wet rocks. Exactly what one wants. A nose so expressive of place. Wow. Powerful, deep and concentrated with incredible mineral inner mouth aromas and that confectionary aroma. Thrilling palate. Structured and deep. So elegant but also substantially powerful. A wine of contests. Super saline and grippy finish. Beautiful mineral driven 1er Cru Riesling with superb sap and structure on the slowly building and very long finish. So terrific. After some air tangy fleshy peach and apricot fruit start to develop on the finish. But this is still a mineral driven wine. Awesome complexity on the finish. Pure. Structured. Sappy. After 5 hours nose is so expansive and aromatic. Hints of leather and insane forest floor. Palate is more integrated and complete. Seamless and structured. So long and complex. The most GG like Ortsweine.

Aug 29th, 2020A powerful, expressive Riesling with brilliant structure & minerality. Cool on the nose with spicy quince & lemon, salty & smokey aromas, a tiny bit of reduction. A touch of sesame as well perhaps? On the palate very complementary to the nose, dense yet with great precision & purity, layered with juicy, vibrant acidity and a brilliant finish with crushed flint & salty rye sourdough.
A grand wine, better than many GGs, ready to drink now and will undoubtedly keep for years to come.
