Big day tasting in Constantia so minimal notes; pale lemon; pronounced intensity aromas of petrol, citrus, underripe stone fruit; off dry, medium plus acid, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; long finish, very good

The nose reveals; some petrol, flinty notes, white peach, lemon, lime, pineapple, orange rind, green apple skin, dry herbaceous notes, soft volcanic minerals citrus blossoms, yellow lilies and white flowers.

The body is medium, waxy and leads into a near dry tannin and or minerality as it sets. The petrol notes seem almost sweet. Flinty notes, white peach, lemon, lime, pineapple, orange rind, green apple skin, honey notes, dry herbaceous notes, soft but, palate gripping volcanic minerals citrus blossoms, yellow lilies and white flowers. The acidity is round but, could be just a bit higher for me. The beautiful finish is; round, lush, elegant, balanced and well polished.

Photos of; Klein Constantia, art work that hangs in their tasting room, etched oak barrel from a 300 year old oak tree they waited a long time to get, the tasting room & library wine cellar in Duggies Dungeon-a former owner of the Estate.
