A wine that was ethereal and alluring from tank, the 2015 Pinot Noir SWK Vineyard has come together beautifully since I last tasted it. Exotic, thrilling aromatics set the stage for a brilliant, utterly impeccable wine long on class and nuance. Racy and plush, with tremendous flavor intensity and tons of supporting minerality, the 2015 simply has it all. This is another magnificent wine from Steve Kistler and Occidental. This is very good. Big style but not overly fruit forward or ripe. Though I don’t know about the winemaking it has some of the backbone I associate with whole cluster. Whatever the cause, I like the structure that comes through the midpalate. I hope the post-Kistler wines go in this direction.,

Wonderful bouquet, fruit forward. Dark fruits: dark cherries, plums, violets. Cinnamon and a hint of graphite. Touch of beef blood. A little more body than “regular” Pinot.
