Kirkland Signature
Signature Series Stag's Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
Time for my Friday's Cabernet fix... Anyone care to join?
Dark ruby in color with a purplish/ ruby rim.
Fruity nose of blackberries, blueberries, plums, cherries, licorice, oak, vanilla, cloves, tobacco, green pepper, coffee, chocolates and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice long legs.
Fruity and dry on the palate, with blackberries, plums, cherries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, spices, peppercorn, leather, smoke, light bell pepper, coffee and chocolates.
Long finish with firm, yet young, tannins and tart cherries.
A great Napa Cabernet at a good price. Nice and balanced, but still young, and needs a few more years in the bottle to smooth out. Very enjoyable by itself or with food, like BBQ Meats.
Nice and tight mouthfeel. Still has some vegetables notes though, which will go away in time, hopefully. Needs 2 hours to open up properly.
Grapes are grown in the Stags Leap District, on volcanic clay soils and on 50 year old vines.
14.3% alcohol by volume.

I mean…Costco kicks ass in most things- and this- this is really good!
Some blueberries and tobacco at the end.

Sep 19th, 20202017 was great, but 2018 is a much more classic rock Cab in a steakhouse auditorium where you raise your hands to rock and your glass to quaff.
