Kirkland Signature
Gigondas Red Rhone Blend
Good and well made. Maybe not super complex. 14% a plus over 15% abv last few vintages.

Blackberry, lavender, and some earth on the nose. Lacks some of the "garrigue" that I would typically associate with the rhone valley. Blackberry, tar, black licorice and firm tannins on the palate. Black fruit on the drying finish, which does go on for quite a while. Nice ,drinkable middle of the road Ginondas, but for the price, buy this one up.

When you see Gigondas at Costco prices, you buy it, right? It’s not great, not special, but it is enjoyable. The nose shows more promise than the flavor experience. The forward notes on the palate are most exciting. Mid and finishing notes are unremarkable. Subtle earth and farm, but underwhelming.

Mar 29th, 2021Good but not particularly noteworthy. Grenache for the American palate. Cherry, cooked plum, and rock aromas.

Price was right, alcohol was a little higher than expected, and the wine was good for the price but nothing out of the ordinary. Have definitely had many better GSMs.

Apr 13th, 2024Made by Guillaume Gonnet, 85 Grenache, 10 Syrah, 5 Mourvedre. Farmed biodynamically farmed and naturally made. This is a good Gigondas at a excellent price. 14% ABV. Drank it too young. A little out of balance: alcohol and tannins not very well integrated.

Mar 24th, 2024Not super dynamic nor does it have a ton of range. But, it does have that cherry, strawberry, and slightly earthy set of notes. For the price (< $10), eminently drinkable.
