Medium ruby in color; cherries, crushed gravel, and raspberries on the nose; intense acidity; medium tannins; tastes like sour cherries, raspberries, dried herbs, a hint of white pepper, and clay with a long finish. Probably needs to decant for a bit. More black fruit aromas after a decant.

Very fine Chateauneuf du Pape from Costco. Winemaker was Guillaume Gonnet. Drinks smooth and rich, subtle berry flavors and herbs du Provence. I’ve had some C du Papes that were a bit harsh, but not this one for about $20. Almost as good as a Hermitage.
