One of the most approachable Xinomavros I've tasted (might be the merlot, probably not the jetlag), this wine has an abundance of fruit sailing above its tannins and balancing out the acidity. Cherries and plums at its center, long, rustic at heart but urbane on the outside, with a sophisticated, lingering (but not at all cloying) finish. Is this the template of a Xinomavro wine that could find acceptance in the U.S. Market? Maybe so... #win. #greece #naoussa

Had this amazing Merlot at the Venetian Well in Corfu. Amazing cherry notes and very dry! Smooth wine with a slight hint of spice! Amazing 5 star meal!

A gift. For me a bit too round and sugary. Some oak influence. Overall, not my cup of coffee.

Great merlot! Very dry at first, but excellent finish with lots of flavor.

Xinomavro is the staple grape of Naoussa along the Macedonian border but Kir-Yianni took things a step further in the 90s and began blending it with merlot. The fierce xinomavro is balanced by the plusher merlot for a wine dried and unsweetened cherries, savory spice and freshly turned topsoil
