Just as it was from barrel, the 2016 Grenache is dark, sensual and inviting, with striking inner perfume and tons of class. The 2016 remains light on its feet for such a big wine, while also preserving quite a bit of aromatic intensity. All that said, it is the wine's total sense of balance that makes it compelling. Moderate dark ruby violet hue. Black cherry and licorice dominate the nose with with more subtle notes of cloves, dried flowers, and smoked meat. Concentrated dark berry fruits and black licorice on the palate with marked acidity and pleasant texture from fine grained tannins. Blend of 93% Alban clone Grenache and 7% Syrah. 14.5% alcohol. $60.
