Marbach Riesling

Delicious but a bit stunted. But better with 2-3 more years.

So complete confectionary, little bit of nahe cherries, white cherries, citrus skin, lime zest, palate is round and elegant and super complex, yellow fruited, so pure. chewy and ripe and crazy acidity. Super sapppy. Brilliant!

Showing very young with notes of lemon, porphyry, some florals but faint and barely ripe apricot. Some confectionary comes through as well. Tightly coiled on the palate but has terrific freshness and just insane acidity. Electricity. Tactile impression of minerals and faint fruit on the backend which dissipated gorgeously. So pure and so sappy. Exceptionally long. Needs to open a lot. But 9.5 for now. Getting more confectionery on the nose after some air. More elegance as well. But fiercely mineral. Almost no fruit. A contrast to last time I had this.

Unreal peach, apricot and wet earth. Sick stoniness. Floral. Rainer cherries. Palate is ripe and spicey with insane minerality and terrific density. Very sappy. Extracted but it’s all Nate porphyr extract. Long. Always extraordinary. 18 maybe better than 19.

Always the most beguiling, complex and complete nose. Insane citrus aromas. Huge lemon, huge citrus, huge florals, smells like it is dripping citrus oils. Super expressive. Confectionary, deep, flamboyant and opulent. Strong mineral undertone as well. Just gorgeous and so complete. Palate is juicy and loosey goosey which makes Marbach a great candidate to drink young. Awesome mouthfeel, texture and depth. Sappy and authoritative with an awesome complex pitter patter of minerals. Long, spicey finish. Echoes for minutes. Epic length. Easily a 9.6. Terrific structure and grip. Even though it can be drunk young it will benefit from age.

Sick nose. More fruit than Domberg, huge aromas, white cherries, less citrus than Domberg. Pitted fruits, nectarine, peach, stone fruits, huge minerals, confectionary, super saline and super salty finish, mineral like nothing, hint of sweet fruits, amazing complexity. After air blood orange, tangerine, so complex, so deep. What a wine.

This is so insane after 8 hours. Huge fruit and depth on the nose. Sappy, deep and so tangy. Awesome grip and structure. So pure. So clean.

Insane Marbach. Wet stones, Meyer lemon, hints of cherry. Huge minerals. Complex, dense and juicy. Powerful and concentrated with an insane finish. Just so complex. This is just brilliant. Nose keeps changing. Vulcanized rubber, almost tannic like finish. Massive structure. Amazing finish. One of the best young wines from Andi I’ve ever had. Just sick.

What a wine and easily best Marbach ever. Yesterday was brilliant but didn’t take notes so here are day 2 notes. Floral and citrus dominate on the nose. Spices as well and a deep, feral mineral edge. So good. Touch of honey. Insanely complex and detailed. Palate is so precise and so deep with insane feel citrus fruit and so much acidity and structure. A baby but will age gloriously.

Nose has that almost creamy seamlessness. Some green apple skin? As this opens minerals from 1,000 year old apricot pits. Apricot flowers. Elegant. Intense Apricot perfume. REALLY pretty.

Palate is very mineral. Classic Schneider. Lovely.

@vinuous marbach spatlese riesling Needs an hour to open up. Then is a wonderful cross between the elegance of mosel Riesling and the tropicality of nahe Riesling. One it’s open the nose has that piercing mineral Riesling blast. Palate is Gern apple with a hint of tropicality. Classic nahe tropicality flits in and out of the nose. A fascinating drink.
