Enjoying this much more on day 2. Opened to enjoy a tasting with the winemaker and a few dozen strangers on the internet. Came out of the bottle hot - lots of alcohol and black pepper. Now it is much softer - a bit of pepper, cherry, and tobacco.

Strong smell of tomato. Carries through to the taste, which combines with the classic bell pepper of cab franc. Interesting and unique. It sounds ridiculous, but it’s like a bright tomato sauce. Pairs really well with cheese.... like tomatoes. No one else tastes tomatoes, but they agree with pepper. Basics.
