Best zin we’ve had in a long time. Impressive. Aged so well. Very old vineyard that we visited with the winemaker at Calera.

Lighter translucent color. Classic Zin nose with chalky soil, jams from fruits of the vine, cherry syrup, and sweet smells. Flavors are pure delicious fruit. Savory side, but complex and woodsy. Apple Jack meets blackberry, cherry, strawberry cobbler. This is very nice coastal Zin. Has the depth you want. Aged well too. Not cooked or over oxidized.

Rocky and very lithe. Campfire and rosemary/ eucalyptus in the nose. Nice balance, fresh raspberry/ black cherry with a cooked cranberry, orange thing.

Decant first! Even though it’s a 2013 it needs time.

Great zin for the price.

More minerally than the Lodi Zins we’re used to, but delightful. Rich and full-bodied. Glad to have more in the cellar.

Fairly spicy. Good fruit but not overwhelming. Pretty good balance, but still on the fruity side. Slightly light on the body.
