more boozy than had hoped for as 2011 #vintage. the fam liked it.

Perfect amount of age on this one. Amazing example of Cab Franc. Kenefick Ranch is always awesome.

Big, warm lots of stuff.

2021 vintage. Light-medium/medium body. Hints of richness here and there but a roller coaster to chocolate-covered cherryland with plenty of dustiness sprinkled atop the effort. 7.8.26.

‘Not as funky’ Peter

v16. This is what $50 should taste like … Delicious..soft smoked meat and sharp cedar nose. Bold, bright, rich black fruits. Long, full, smooth, slightly chalky, chewy, mocha and baking spice finish. Nicely balanced and very good!

v15. Consistently outstanding. Soft toast and smoked meat nose. Rich, thick blackberry fruit. Smooth, lasting, boot leather, soft black pepper, and mocha finish. Well balanced.

Outstanding.

I have learned over the years that fruit from Kenefick just takes time to develop. Still maintaining acidity, the floral nose of this wine is rather present today along with mature red fruits. Entry of this wine is medium+ bodied with chalky black cherry, rhubarb, and a hint of baking chocolate. Violets creep up into the middle and finish. This wine is likely at peak, although it wouldn't surprise me if it has a few more years before starting thw descent.
