In the glass the wine is an intriguing dark imperial purple, that suggests velvety smooth. On the nose aromas of mocha, nutmeg, blackberry, blueberry, red and black currants, black pepper, leather, cassis, smoky oak, licorice, and light earth. Subtle notes of chocolate and vanilla add to the richness and length of this bold Cabernet. It drinks clean and easy with substance and depth, fine grained tannins on a lengthly finish. Cabernet 85% Cab Franc 6% Petit Verdot 4% Malbec 4% Merlot 1%

Completely lackluster blackberry, cassis, mocha notes. No tannins. Unremarkable.

Bit overrated in WS and on this site. Big, dry start that doesn't soften much at the end, even with a decant. Going ok with the burgers we BBQ'd, but not going to the top of my buy again list. Prefer the Sterling Black Label.
