Kelvedon Estate
Pinot Noir
East Coast, Tasmania, Australia

See previous notes - this is a big flavoursome Pinot Noir. Red and Black cherries - a little toffee (oak) but largely integrated. Medium plus bodied palate with stewed fruits like rhubarb - medium minus acid. A mouthful of flavour and a great winter Pinot Noir. Tasted 24 weeks later on 3rd December 2021. Consistent notes - raspberry and rich cherry - medium plus bodied - a Shiraz drinkers Pinot - on the large size. Not being disparaging - I enjoyed this.

The 2nd of 2 Tasmanian Pinot Noirs. Dense Ruby in colour - much darker than the Tolpuddle. Rich aromatics of smoky oak and black fruits - Cherry and Plum which carry through to the full bodied palate. Generous flavours. Finishes dry. Incredibly youthful for 8 years of age. One of the bigger bodied Pinots I’ve had for a while.

May 20th, 2018Drank 18.03.26 w/ Andie Ngan - 2016 vintage (MV6) Kelvedon Estate (5300 hectare property on Tas East Coast, established by Francis Cotton in 1830, temperate maritime climate close to sea) - bought for $50 on 04.04.21 from The Farm Shed, Bicheno Tasmania, recommend cellar 5-10 years. Extremely tasty very smooth and well rounded balanced bodied Pinot Noir where every mouthful was a delight to drink. Goes down very smooth and easy. Cherry front and currants at end with a touch of minerals. Def a higher end range a step above the usual table wine

Christmas spices and cherry on the nose, very flavourful on the palate. Delicious! Tart and soft tannins. Drank it first at a dego at Stillwater, bought a half case. 2012
