An excellent Cab from Moon Mountain. This vineyard sits on the Sonoma side of Mount Veeder, right off the border of Napa and is known for it’s extremely rocky terrain and it’s famous farmer Phil Coturri. Had this one in magnum and it’s starting to open, but plenty of improvement in bottle still to come. Rich and brooding and packed with black fruit. Moderate acidity and some mild tannin. A well made wine that will reward for the next 15yrs and beyond. 🌝 ⛰

2004 Kamen. Pure bliss. Beautiful fruit with a smooth vanilla finish. THIS is why you age wines.

1hr+ decant. Dark red color with nice purple rims. Dark fruit and vanilla on the nose. Decent tannins on the palate with dark cherries. Seemed higher alcohol than I was expecting, but also very sweet. Medium depth and finish. A few more years might help this.

Almost followed my last note - gave this 8yrs versus 10!

1+hr decant. Dark purple color. Dark cherries, licorice, and anise on the nose. Lovely texture. Napa sweetness with hints of spice and cocoa. Chewy wine with a medium finish. Very nice!

In 5 years, this wine has the potential to be outstanding. Today, the components of tannin, fruit and acid have not come into balance. If you must drink it soon, decant for 2+ hours.
