Vin Du Mistral Napa Valley Syrah

What a surprise. Showed so well and considerable freshness given its age. Everything was integrated and balanced and it became very hard not to just gulp it down. Dried black fruit, leather, meat, wet tobacco, ash, dried violets, olive, sweet spices and bay leaf. From magnum.

Surprisingly lots of primary black fruit aromas with a stewed character, black licorice, powdered sugar, hints of olive, leather, cigar ash. Very integrated. Slightly tired with some freshness dropping out but very drinkable and enjoyable. Out of magnum. Thanks @Andreya Nightingale !!

1992 Syrah Magnum. This was perfect. Totally soft, still had dark fruit, black olive and spice. Still can't believe how well it's held up.

Good blend. A little sweet initially but balanced out after it breathed a little. Overall nice wine but enjoyed even more at the Joseph Phelps winery. Great ambience and even better friends.

Balanced, leather, meat.

Syrah. Red wine. Enjoying. Smokey which I like but I know others that don’t like. Cherry finish. Interesting. Maybe I need to wait longer to drink. Ratings are for much older vintages. I just think wine needs to be enjoyed now not saved. Definitely better after opening for a while. Now I feel cedar and cinnamon and other spices.

It’s back after a 25 year hiatus. Delicious black currant and soft tannins. Look gored to a bit of time on this blend
