Joseph Drouhin
Clos des Mouches Blanc Beaune 1er Cru Chardonnay
A bit tired ... but still lovely and trace minerality

May 22nd, 2018Had a 97 Coulee Serrant earlier this year that ended up being so close to this in a holistic sense; that inescapable electricity on the palette and such a complex nose that could easily be mistaken for a shy nature of unripe fruit. It’s obvious why this is a premier Cru monopole that gets its own cute little label design in such a large wine-making house as Drouhin. Truly a special plot firing like proper vinifera nerve endings on planet earth should. Some may think this is subtle. This takes space and depth as the taster to allow this to sink deeply.👌🏼 thanks Wally wine for redeeming itself on this and Bachelet 05 aligote. These two whites have been some of the highlights of my recent wine experiences.
