This was beautiful. Alive, elegant, silky, and ethereal. Gorgeous and surprisingly supple red fruits, leather, cigars, cedar and turned earth. The spice character was so pure, allspice, clove, nutmeg. Dried rose petals. Mature tannins, soft and silky. Thanks @Tom 'Sqomi' Inners

Highlight of the day brought by @Mark Flesher . This was Jordan’s inaugural vintage. Still hanging in there! This probably performed better than the ‘88 Mondavi Reserve I had a few months ago. Improved with air without a doubt. Tar, blackberries, medicinal notes, and a dirty clay finish. A peek in to a different time for sure.

Note vintage: 1976! The fist release by Jordan. It's a window on another time - sleek, elegant and slightly more herbal that contemporary versions it still is charming and seductive rather than overpowering. Drink one if you see it.

Made from purchased grapes. Very pretty style. Restrained and delicate red fruit on the nose. cranberry and raspberry mostly. Lots of cedar and cigar-box aromas too. Palate was soft and lively. Bottle was in good shape. Flavors were definitely mature, but pure and fairly open. #firstvintage

Co-WOTN. So much going on here and so pure and substantial for a 40 year old wine. Rich fig, smoke, forest floor, sandalwood, mushroom and an array of dark fruits. Not much bricking. Still looks like a 10 year old wine in the glass.
