I would invite you to find a bottle like this older & well stored 03, “The Sisters. “I would enjoy tasting this blind w/ Napa Cult wines & lovers. Then, watch their eyes open wide when I pulled off the brown bag. Many would call Colgin, Scarecrow, Harlan, Bond & the like etc.. I recently paid $50 for this 2003 at auction. That includes tax & auction fees. For vintage, they would call 10, 13 or 14. This is still youthful. Beautiful M+ somewhat rounded tannins, fruit buffet w/ dark pronounced spice. This has ten years plus left.

The palate is round, plush, phat fruits of; blackberries, black raspberries, plum, dark cherries, strawberries, purple fruits with blueberries. Dark, well pronounced spice, soft baking spices, sweet graphite, soft, fresh, tobacco notes, used leather warm, gray clay, river-stone, mocha, caramel notes, dry crushed rock, limestone marl, some dry top soil, dark, purple red fresh & withering florals, excellent, round acidity and a well made, balanced, beautifully structured and elegant finish that lasts minutes falling on elegant earth & spice.

TRB made wine. Stunning!!!!

This wine has gotten a little better over the last 4 years but it has the same headline. This song has no crescendo! While it is still pleasant on the front end, it has absolutely no depth or nuance in the finish.

Why buy a Bevan at $200.00 when you can get an older Jones at 1/4 the price.

My last of the Jones Sisters experiment. A little Prunish like several 04’s I’ve had from various wineries.

First time have this one, nicely aged steak wine.

Winemaker's Notes:

Great ripening weather in the Fall yielded beautifully developed ripe wines in 2005. The Sisters blend has aromas of spice, vanilla, cedar and plumy fruit. Very clean with smoky overtones, the flavors are of black cherry and red currants. Soft mouth feel and lively acidity make for an easy drinking enjoyable Cabernet Sauvignon blend.--Heidi Peterson Barrettwinemaker, June 23, 20082005 The SistersWinemaker Notes - This lovely wine is the little sister to our estate Jones Family Cabernet. It is a blend of certain blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Dark garnet in color with aromas of a young Bordeaux. I smell ripe blueberry and cocoa powder and bits of spice and toasted oak. This wine is medium bodied with firm structure that should lend itself well to further aging. The tannins are light and dusty and flavors are of plum and cherry. Nicely balanced.- Heidi P. BarrettWinemaker, Jones Family Vineyards
