Absolutely fantastic brown sour from JP. Molasses, malt, and just sour enough to keep it bright. Awesome.

This is a bottle that Vanessa was given by a former student who was apparently trying to clear out his cellar. Bottled on October 4, 2011, this is the best incarnation of Noel de Calabaza that I’ve ever had. Incredible balance, great secondary aromas, and a finish that lasts far longer than younger versions of this beer. Just goes to show how awesome JPs can become if you hide them away for a few years.

I'm just terrible at describing aromas in beer, so let's just say this is fantastic and perfect for a winter's night in front of a fire!

Well, it's snowing here in Michigan...on April 2. Might as well open up a Noel de Calabaza from my favorite MI brewery, Jolly Pumpkin. Great malt flavor with enough sourness to keep it from being too syrupy. Just a terrific beer.

Wow. Bought this at the brewery - part of their Vintage Reserve Series (which I confess I'm not that familiar with), this is SO MUCH BETTER than the regular Noel de Calabaza (which is already a terrific beer). This seems to have a bit more sourness to it, which I think brings the malt into better balance. Regardless, this is a great beer from Jolly Pumpkin.

Another terrific offering from JP, this has some great spice overtones, malt, and just enough sourness to balance it all. Not quite in the same league as Rojzilla or Rojzilla Kriek, but still terrific.
