Jolie-Laide Wines
Halcon Vineyard Syrah
On the nose a wonderful combination of high toned florals and funk. The palate delivers an amazing mixture of acid and meatiness with very low alcohol. Tremendous paring with Peking duck as the wine had a hoisin like flavor.I would put this in a Cote Rotie blind tasting.

Nov 30th, 2018Beautiful fresh Syrah that almost has an imperfect ‘garagiste’ quality to it - and I mean that in the best of ways. On the nose black cherry and olive tapenade. On the palate black fruit, savory olive and lavender. Low alcohol, high acidity and grippy tannins. If you enjoy northern Rhône Syrah, you’ll enjoy this as well.

Sep 30th, 2018Weird nose blows off to reveal a subtle Syrah. Low ABV with potential (acidified?) brightness. However, there’s an almost Cab-Franc woodiness, and furry-toothed tannins that keep things serious.
