John Bookwalter Winery
Antagonist Elephant Mountain Vineyard Syrah
Inky dark, a bit tighter than I remembered, but still has smoked meat aromas and ripe black fruit and black olive flavors. Very smooth and supple tannins. This bottle wasn't cellared for the last couple months and it may have accelerated its aging, so it's at its peak.

Dec 18th, 2015Back before John Bookwalter became a big winery, there was this. Three S description: smokey, savory, smooth. A bit hot with 15.2% alcohol, but the black fruit flavors offset it for the most part. Paired well with kielbasa.

Sep 4th, 2014Worst $45 wine I've ever had. Have to assume it was a bad bottle. Tasted like cough syrup.
