Nose has lime slice, dried apricots, yeasty dough, soap powder and dried white flowers.

Palate has honey drizzle over dried orange, salted lime wedge, ripe apricot, dehydrated apple slice, lime peel and mineral water with lively acidity. Great bottle.

Decanted 5H.

A young wine still, could expect this bottle to run out another 15+ years in proper storage.

24 Hour Update:
Nose transitioned to dried lime, but that soap powder piece is quite nice. Palate is still holding true.

Lovely balance in this classic Spätlese - medium sweetness with green apple, quince, lime and blossom (honeysuckle and linden) on the nose, Adding bit of white peach and slate minrrality on the palate with crisp acidity to balance the sweetness. Fine, long finish

Side by side with the ‘07 Wehl. Sonn.
Both 8.5% Alc. Bastube is more crisp right out of the bottle but opens up with a richer body and a slightly more golden color. Beautiful Riesling through and through.

I've hit the last 4 out of 5 weekly wine committees and it has been a treat every time. This week, @Jeff Meyer hosted and schooled everyone on how good German wines can be!

I've had zero dessert wines from this region, so I had no clue what this was. Extremely pear focused...light weight. Needs 5-7yrs to be in a nice window. Very cool to try.
