Joao Pato (Duckman)
Nerd Duck Fernão Pires - Baga Blend
Pale ruby; medium intensity aromas of cranberry, red apple skin, juicy red cherry, mineral, subtle cider funk; dry, medium plus acid, medium plus drying tannins, low alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; definitely natural, complex as interesting

Jun 10th, 2021The varietal is Baga, but says 94% white grapes. Unlike many natural wines I’ve had, this tastes more site specific & terror driven. Has a black fruit, Nebbiolo kinda thing going on. Serious tannins but integrated. Savio Soares Importer who else. Worth seeking out.

Feb 10th, 2020NV. Had a wonderful five course dinner with excellent beverage pairings next door at Tail Up Goat and then stopped at Le Mont Royal to have something while thinking about calling a ride home. We were reminiscing with the waiter at the restaurant about a Pato anfora red wine we had there pre-covid, so when I saw this wine on the bar list, I knew I was ordering it. Cool, tart, and a little spritzy. Perfect after dessert.
