The 2007 vintage is probably at or near its peak. The cab dominance is overt, with mouth watering and intense cherry/red fruits and tobacco on initial palette. The tannic structure is intense still (and if you are waiting for that to soften then yeah, give it a few more years). The Merlot and Syrah definitely come on in the finish still (they were more dominant 7 or 8 years ago when the wine was new), with notes of pepper, bacon, leather, and plum peeking out as the cab notes linger. Yum yum yum!

Jul 25th, 2017The Tre ages so well, it really needs to lay down to come into its own. Intense cherry and tobacco on the nose. Elegant tannins, peppery edges, and full bodied red fruit are a delight for the tongue. This could have aged a few more years at least. Yum x 2!
