I know this wine is actually excellent, but unfortunately my bottle has a good amount of very distracting VOC. It is prominent on the nose and the palette. If you like a wine overpowered by barnyard and astringent character, great, this one’s for you. BUT NOTE, I KNOW this is just a flawed bottle. The vintage and the wine is otherwise solid. :(

Interestingly, this is bigger than 2010 (has less cab and more merlot). This one is not quite as bright, with thicker tannins, more brooding fruit (more pruney), and a heavier mouth feel. Fantastic!!

Flat. Out. Delicious. Elegant with a beautiful nose of baked spice and fruit. Very balanced, and wish I had more than 1 bottle on hand. #washingtonwine
