Wow! Just wow... 2014 is even better than 2013. Parfumey, meaty and fruity all at once, and so good. White pepper, blueberries, plum, baking spices, and a hint of dried meat gracefully unravel in your mouth as you sip. Yum!

Inky appearance, floral nose, and a taste experience packed with elegant spice and tobacco notes that follow the initial, voluptuous plum and blackberry fruit notes. Yum!!

Needs some serious aeration still, as it is a huge, inky, tannic monster of a Syrah! Tobacco, ripe pomegranate, wet slate/pencil shavings and a hint of leather loom large and full, once it has gotten enough air. Yum!!!

Hint hint, the 2011 vintage of this JM Columbia Valley Syrah is actually 64% Boushey Syrah. That is because the cool temps of 2011 didn’t produce enough fruit for it to be 100%. But even at 64% it is still graced by the intense, jammy, and meaty characteristics Boushey fruit is known for. After about an hour of being open, this wine is bombastic. The first and most intense fruit note is ripe plum, followed by a hint of blackberry or dark cherry. The fleshy notes are fleeting, and bold but not as prominent as the fruit. It ends with lingering tobacco notes. Yum!!!

Wonderfully tannic, aromatics that linger like a stubborn lover, plum, cloves/baking spices on the nose, maybe a hint of overripe fruit/higher sugars... But I luke it a lot.

Nice full bodied sweetness (from the Boushey fruit I think), edged in spiciness and plum. Yum!

Love their wines. Impeccable mouthfeel, dark fruit and nicely integrated oak. Thanks, John!
