The wine initially showed some oxiditative porty notes which blew off with time in Decanter. Even so I believe this wine was probably a little better a few years ago. Notes of Clare Valley menthol and eucalyptus. After 14 years quite good mid palate power with traces of black currant and dark chocolate but essentially savoury in character. Drink now.

Aromas of black currant mint and menthol- some rusticity. This is the telltale Menthol/Eucalyptus character of old vine Clare Valley Cabernet, just like Wendouree. Medium bodied with Medium plus Intensity. Sweet Palate. A very satisfying Cabernet with a Cape Grim Rib Fillet.
