Figured might be heading downhill but it’s drinking very nicely for my taste. That complexity only possibly with bottle age. Went well with different dishes over several days in Eto.

Feb 8th, 2023Nice wine at its prime drinking window (for my personal taste for aged wines). Nose of autumnal forest floor and earth, minerals and crushed mature berries with lively mouth feel and texture, perhaps just a bit one dimensional in a fading finish but an excellent GL 24 value back then especially given the current $ in the 50s.

May 1st, 2021Frog Hollow red#2 6/28/18. Good Burg nose and balanced red cherry earthy palate and good length. Very lively texture and despite it's age and further developed in glass. Good value.

Dark berries on the nose. Light in color. The wine is imported by Lyle Fass who is the importer, whole seller and retailer all in one! So his pricing is sharp. Things happen only via email you need to reply quickly and wait for the wines to arrive many month later and you need to trust him. A good Côte de Nuits. Usually these are the poor mans burgundies and are watered down but not this one. Some morello cherries and dark berries. Soft tannins as the wine mellows out. I would say drink now. Not long the next day the fruit was gone.
