This was just stunning. One of those rare but complete Burgundy moments you dream about...
By a good head the best bottle of Burgundy I’ve had in a long time (from any producer, including a number of DRC La Tache etc.). A rare purity of fruit and intent - with a focused, peacock-tail like depth and length that just went on and on. A wonderful mix of redcurrents, raspberries, rhubarb, white pepper, and pomegranates, with a superb cut of scintillating acidity. The kind of wine that puts all the modern over-ripe Burgundies produced today into sharp focus. Why on Earth would any sane person aim for something other than this...
