If you want a Beauj with Barolo tannins then this is it. A bit of s hyperbole but honestly this has a ton of backbone on it and bite on it. Honestly it’s not my style for Beauj. It is s good wine. But I would age it for 8 or at least 5 years. It’s fruit is concentrated but the back end hits you in the face. Even with about an hour in the decanter it still persists with almost cab franc vibes.
Talking with my wife there is nothing refreshing with this wine which tbh in my opinion makes it fail as a beaj. It’s a good wine. But not a good beaj for me. I would have guessed Pinot or maybe some strange barolo. I’ll stick with the Jean foillard and marcelle lapierre. A good educational wine for me but ehh
Also. To me this doesn’t have the secondary and tertiary shades that a beaj of this price warrants. Like a foillard of lapierre has colours in between the major fruit points. This… has them after an hour in the decanter but it’s harsh to my palate. More cab franc vibes the. Beaj smoothness. Once again a good wine perhaps an excellent wine with age but not my vibe for this region.
