Jean-Marc Burgaud
Côte du Py Morgon Gamay
This Beaujolais from Burgaud is his flagship bottling. The wine is at once powerful and graceful, it shows intense, mineral-tinged blue fruit, spice and floral character, seamless texture and possesses the depth and structure to age. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, Dec 2017) $21.00

Raspberry explosion, searing acid, tannins that are just starting to loosen up. Explosively aromatic. I have had this vintage once per year since release and it gets better every time. 2 bottles left.

Aug 9th, 2020Beautiful color. Nose of black cherry, cassis, nutmeg, bit of forest floor. On the pallet it has strong tannins and quite a bit of acid. You can really taste the youth. You can also taste the chalky earth and tart red cherry. It definitely needs more time, but quite tasty. Young, it needs food like lamb.

Dec 23rd, 2017Nose of tart cherry and oak mainly. The palate is very concentrated with a dark colour and a very powerful fruit and acid backbone. Very young it will go far away. Cherry, black Berry, a long fruity finish. Good but will be better in 5 years
