Grande Réserve Cotes du Rhone Red Rhône Blend

Nice French blend for the price. A little more fruit forward/new world than expected, but still solid.

This may be the very bottom of the barrel of what can be classified as a Cotes-du-Rhône. James Suckling’s sticker on it confirms him as a total sellout

Whiff of orange peel, spices, berries. Tastes as it smells, with a bit more on the spices, a tiny bit earthier than the nose, Decent. Simple, but content.

Well put together, straightforward CDR. Already enjoyable young. No rough edges, maybe a touch flabby. Good with braised shanks over polenta.
