Nose of black fruits, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, chocolates, coffee, alcohol and black pepper.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, spices, licorice, chocolates, bitter herbs, alcohol, coffee, light earth and peppercorn.
Spicy finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This Syrah blend from California is still drinking nicely, although definitely not at its peak any longer.
Good right out of the bottle and better after 30 minutes of airtime.
The Syrah is very dominant, especially on the palate, and the high alcohol is noticeable.
Showing nice complexity at this point. Tasty and good by itself as a sipping wine.

“Oh wow. Holy shit” were the words that came out of my mouth after drinking. Just needed to let it breathe for 15-20 minutes it’s bold, earthy and exactly my style. 100% would buy again. Thanks Wine Access!

Feb 1st, 2025I loved this dry, yet fruity, smooth wine. I was surprised to find it for 6.99 at Grocery Outlet, especially a 2012! I bought a few bottles to « save » yet now they’re gone.
