Fully opaque ruby core fading to a garnet rim. Expressive nose of candied cherries, pipe tobacco, mint, and cloves. Intense concentration on the palate featuring red fruit and pleasing minerality leading to a long and somewhat herbal finish. This Bobby Kacher selection has retained a surprisingly firm tannin spine and it definitely benefitted from air, so would recommend a decant of an hour or so. Spent 18 months in barrel with 100% new oak this vintage. I continue to enjoy the ‘05’s and suspect this wine is just now entering its drinking window with many years still ahead of it. 13.5% ABV.
