Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon
We put this little charmer head to head on the blind against some Bogle and no one was confused. For the price it's not 4x better than Bogle but it's compact and certainly confident enough. Decent alone, the light grape notes probably swoon well for medium spice and pork chop/currant/sage.

Jul 21st, 2017Lately I've had a lot on my mind and needed to sit and think for a while to find clarity. So what better to do that with than one of my favorite Cabs? 100% pure Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the Calistoga region, its color is a rich deep purple. Aromas of blackcurrant, smoke and french vanilla bean. Full bodied with well structured tannins. Flavors of black cherry and tomato wash over your palate melding to a tobacco and mint finish. What am I pondering? How to make this wine writing I so much into a career...
