A case of infanticide drinking this beautiful wine from Heathcote so early in its 15 to 20 year life. Generously shouted by friends at a French bistro in Melbourne. Brief notes. Trademark earthy and mineral notes with red fruits on nose and palate. Typically 15% ABV. 93 points for now but will develop to 95 plus.

Very dark in colour - opaque. Black plum and earthy “Heathcote “ aromas - some spice and liquorice. The same notes carry through to the full bodied palate with dark cherry and mocha. Chalky dry tannins. From magnum.

Initially a little pongo on the nose - wet nappy which remained to a minor extent. The palate was sweet, mineral and earthy - very Heathcote. A mellow rich full bodied Shiraz which is uniquely Jasper Hill - the early black pepper morphed into spice. Built to last but now drinking at its peak.

Dark ruby in color with a cloudy brick rim.

On the nose, currants, plums, light wood, vanilla, spices, wet leaves, forest floor, pencil lead, vinaigrette, leather and peppercorn.

Full-bodied and elegant with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, oak, red currants, vanilla, licorice, earth, eucalyptus, vinaigrette, leather, dark chocolates, coffee and peppercorn.

Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tangy pomegranates.

This is a very nice aged Shiraz from Australia. Not fully balanced anymore, but showing nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.

Showing a nice tangy ending, which would pair well with food.

Interesting and enjoyable, although this was probably better a couple of years ago.

Wine Enthusiasts 91 points.

Thank you, Scott for sharing.

I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.

15% alcohol by volume.

89 points.

$75.

Magnum
Nose not so focused or intense,
But on the palate it explodes long 👌🏽

Another Wine from the Langtons Outstanding category. Always one of the best Shirazes from the ancient soils of Heathcote. Georgia’s Paddock is a 12 hectare dry grown ungrafted vineyard. Rich plush and full bodied. Ron Laughton the owner and winemaker was on the stand.

Strong in colour for a 14 year old Wine. Notes of dried florals like Lavender. Rich and flavoursome, earthy with an animale note. Going strong at nearly 15 years of age with M + intensity. Jasper Hill one of the early wineries in Heathcote and helped put Heathcote on the map over 30 years ago.
