Our only Macon and it’s a doozy. Latest vintage is terrific. Superb minerality. Almost obnoxious how in your face mineral it is. But it’s so pretty and so distinct you fall for it. Green Apple. Lemon. So classic. Crunched rock dust. Floral. A field. Really smells like a place. Just gorgeous aromas. Lemon tree. Palate is super juicy and dense. Tastes like a big 3 village in Côte de Beaune. Dense and structured. So fresh and so energetic. Wow. This echoes. Ample richness but followed by that Apple electricity. It tastes likes electrified apples. Long and juicy. This is terrific Macon and can compete with Chassagne etc up north.
As it airs there is a confectionary, treacly, texture and the minerals sweeten. This is divine. Maybe a 9.4. We will see. It’s teetering.
