One of the best visits in Champagne, Montgueux’s terroir is unmistakable. Manu’s approach at Lassaigne is admirable and the wines are remarkable. This 2010 was superb, and grew from a dense and concise expression into something wider and deeper with an hour being open. I think this was raised in Ganevat Vin Jaune barrels? Wow. Worth every cent.

initial reaction: steely, closed, backwards. After Air, bready, berries, blackberries, raspberries. Fresh lemon zest over richer plum. Substantial minerality. This took awhile for me to come around to.
