Don’t sleep on the 2017 J.B. Becker Wallufer Walkenberg Riesling Spätlese trocken.  While upon first opening seeming coy and withdrawn, yet it wasn’t long before a seductive display of peach, young mango, hints of kiwi, white smoke and wet stone evolved in the glass. At first soft, yet then suddenly salty and intense, tugging at the senses with mineral-driven tension, backed by zesty acids with a green apple twang.  The cheeks pucker for another sip, yet at this youthful stage, I have to wonder if I could ever satisfy the craving.  It may be best to lose a few bottles in a cold cellar for a year or two more.
