Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and nicely balanced.

Showing black fruits with spices, light wood, tobacco leaf, dark chocolates, red candy, black pepper, herbs and light graphite.

This 11 year old is peaking now. Nice and engaging. Extracted and rich, yet elegant. Tangy and interesting.

Good right out of the bottle, and much better after 90 minutes of air time.

Showing nice complexity at this point with a nice mouthfeel.

A very interesting take on a Petite Sirah from Colorado. Showing more red fruits than I expected.

I had it before and I liked it even better now.

Grapes are grown in the Grand Valley AVA and fermented on their own yeast. Aged in American oak barrels. Unfiltered and vegan.

This is very interesting Petite Sirah from Colorado. Showing red and blue fruits with earth, oak, licorice, spices, dark chocolates, peppercorn and herbs.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate and fruit forward. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.

Long finish with firm tannins and tangy cranberries.

This 8 year old is drinking very nicely now and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years.

Needs a few hours to open up properly and delicious once it does.

I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.

This is a nice Petite Sirah from Colorado. Showing black fruits with wood, light vanilla, earth, spices, honeysuckle and peppercorn.

Dry on the palate and full bodied with medium plus acidity.

Tangy finish with firm tannins and sour cherries.

Still young, but already enjoyable. Needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly. I've had the 2012 recently, and it is worth waiting.

Very nice nose with lots of flowers, once it opens up. Needs 3 hours to open up properly, and show the beauty of the nose.

Would pair nicely with BBQ Meats.

Deep purple in color with a short reddish rim.

Fruity nose with blackberries, black cherries, cooked strawberries, oak, light vanilla, licorice, spices, earth, light vegetables, turmeric, black pepper and a touch of honeysuckle.

Full bodied and bold with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with cherries, sweet strawberries, raspberries, lemon peal, black currants, oak, earth, honeysuckle, spices, herbs and black pepper.

Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy pomegranates.

This is a very unique Petite Sirah from Colorado. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Rich, dense, opulent and tangy. Concentrated, but fresh.

This Single Vineyard Petite Sirah does not resemble a California Petite Sirah.

Still young and needs five years in the bottle to mature properly, but already very yummy. I really enjoyed the nose, and kept smelling on it for a while.

Good right out of the bottle. Good by itself and better with food. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

Grapes are fermented on their own yeast. Aged in American oak barrels. Unfiltered and unfined.

Cheers to my first wine from Colorado.

Inky in color with a brick rim.

On the nose blueberries, currants, oak, light vanilla, licorice, cloves, herbs, Mediterranean spices, dark chocolates, vinaigrette, earth, herbs and peppercorn. Really nice nose.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blueberries, ripped cherries, red currants, light wood, cooked strawberries, spices, earth, herbs, light vinaigrette, light vegetables and peppercorn.

Nice length on the finish with firm tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a very tasty Petite Sirah from Colorado. Interesting and nicely balanced. Showing nice structure.

This 8 year old is good by itself or with food. Interesting and engaging.

This Single Vineyard needed time to open up. I gave it 90 minutes to bring out the tannins, which I really enjoyed. After 4 hours of airtime, the tannins get much finer.

I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.

Perhaps THE quintessential Balistreri wine, and also near the top of my list of canonically great Petite Sirahs. This has so much to give: ripe plums, minerality, wave after wave of acidity and tannins. The 09' used to be pretty tannic and grippy, but now it has softened into something irresistible. The most amazing part? No new oak. No Sulphites. No Filtering. #naturalwine #nosulfites #coloradowine

We opened this on my grandfathers birthday and the wine has now been sitting in bottle for a decade. No loss in color or grip, it has aged well without the addition of sulfites. Dense plum and gravel notes come together. This is not a sweet or ripe wine, but instead big and complex. It needed about 30 minutes to open up.

Huge yet elegant. Really dense plum center palate, surrounded by anise and other subtle spice on the edges.

Black currents on the nose, persimmon and pomegranate flavors. Still very chewy, great color and retained tannins. Has a few more years to go.
