I have never ever considered chowing down on a fish curry - but oh my, this homemade Thai Green Fish Curry was awesome! And then teamed up with this bottle of Isabel 2017 Pinot Gris from Marlborough, NZ 👌👌 It’s going to be one of my stand out wine & food matches of the year, I’m sure.

This bottle is part of the Dan Murphy’s ‘Seafood and White Wine Pairings for Easter’ promo. At $29 it’s a cracker of a PG - I know there’s a number of Pinot Gris haters out there, but seriously, NZ producing some quality tipples.

It’s a light lemon colour in the glass with a slight peachiness to it. The nose is fruity and floral with fresh apple and quince dominating. In the mouth it’s full of juicy pear, slices of nectarine and a hint of honey and grapefruit acidity. Perfect match to the zing of a Thai Green Fish Curry 🍛

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #sample #tcweekdaywine

Another interesting wine. The one thing that I recognized on the nose was the smell of a light, soft blue cheese. Weird but everyone else at the table agreed. Extremely light wine with notes of pear, nectarine, grapefruit. Almost clear in color but the finish was very nice. Super long finish with a slight spice

2012 Isabel Pinot Gris Marlborough. Lovely Pinot Gris. Lemony with plenty of crisp steely minerality. Tropical citrus. A little lychee but on the nose.
